Manitou celebrates the festive season with The Rock Five One Day Care orphanage

The Rock Five One Day Care is an orphanage run by Anna – a woman who has dedicated her life to caring for orphans in and around Tembisa. The Rock Five One Day Care has been up and running for over 4 years. It currently cares for 25 children from the ages of 1 to 5 years old. The orphanage also acts as an aftercare for children that attend school but don’t have any parental supervision at home. Anna and her two helpers take care of the children and help them with any homework and projects they bring home. On Monday, 5 December 2016, Manitou SA’s MD Lindsay Shankland and a few staff members spent some time with the children at The Rock Five One Day Care, wanting to do something special for them in true Christmas spirit. Manitou SA provided a lunch for all the children and bought presents for each child. When we arrived, the children introduced themselves to us and began performing song and dance. Many of the songs were local English, Zulu and Shangaan songs and accompanied with proud African dances. After an eventful hour, Anna closed the ceremony with prayer and thanked Manitou SA for our contributions to a successful and gratifying day. Manitou SA was honoured to work with Anna and we are really pleased to be part of The Rock Five One Day Care family.
